Katana Secures Macatawa Challenge and 2025 Series Victory

The team sealed their status as series champions for the second year in a row by completely dominating the Macatawa Challenge.

Katana has done it again! Not only did the team clinch the Macatawa Challenge gold, but the team was crowned the overall series victor for the second year in a row!

The competition was fierce right from the start of the three-day challenge. On day one, Heartbreaker won the first race, followed by Katana in race two, and the mighty Wizard taking race three. This resulted in a rare three-way tie for first place, with Heartbreaker, Katana, and Wizard each sitting on 8 points.

By the end of day two, Katana found momentum, sailing to the top of the leaderboard with 14 points. Though Wizard remained a threat in second with 18 points, Katana’s consistency was starting to show. Testament to the fleet’s strength, 5 different boats had claimed race victories across the first two days of racing.

However, on the final day of competition, Katana simply ran away with it, accumulating only 3 total points! It was the ultimate high-note finish for a season. We quickly found our rhythm, and this decisive victory is proof of the incredible growth we achieved together as team: Katana won three of the four in-shore series events to tally just 13 points over the seven event season.

The countdown begins for our next challenge. We’ll see you in Florida in 2026!
